Apostles Revelation Society- A Letter from the Youths

Over ten years of misunderstanding after the death of Prophet C.K.N Wovenu, uniting as one family is still a herculean task for this noble church. As a matter of facts we are tired of being in this situation.

The priority of a church is to preach to the world and win soul for Christ. We go to church every day to pray for peace to prevail in the church without the two parties meeting to set out their differences and forgetting that heaven helps those who help themselves.
Youths of this church are mocked wherever they find themselves; we are not able to protect the integrity of this church again and cannot even defend the church in terms of friendly arguments.
This unnecessary conflict must grind to a halt, the halcyon days in ARS was exciting and interesting and it cannot be compared to this present time.
We are always proud of ourselves to tell people that “Mele Apostlowo Dzi” and “Mele Nyeenyami dzi”. Those sayings will not yield any fruit.
Every day we are kept in suspense about the church uniting but to no avail. Can’t we invest the money we spend in court issues to develop the church?
Many dignitaries have served as a guiding light to resolve this issue but we turned deaf ears to them.
We the youths cannot hold this anymore, we are tired of this division and we are not going to stand aloof and see the plight of this church.
Whether hook or crook, the two parties of the church must unite and worship together in this year convention.
We are reviving the ARS 1 FLAG CAMPAIGN and we shall rise up against any unfavourable actions from any of the two parties.
Let us support the ARS 1 FLAG CAMPAIGN and I strongly believe the Lord will show his wonders.

Falling Standard Of English Language

language in the history of our planet, used in some way by at least one out of every seven human beings around the globe.  Half of the world’s books are written in English, and the majority of international telephone calls are made in English.
Sixty percent of the world’s radio programs are beamed in English, and more than seventy percent of international mail is written and addressed in English.  Eighty percent of all computer texts, including all web sites, are stored in English.
English has acquired the largest vocabulary of all the world’s languages, perhaps as many as two million words, and has generated one of the noblest bodies of literature in the annals of the human race.
English Language has influence in communication, business, studies, careers and it helps the individual to communicate with people in almost every part of the world.
It is incontrovertible that agglomerations of 60% of Ghanaians are illiterate, they can neither read nor write and this is retarding the development of the country. This problem is as a result of the adoption of the “swag language” pidgin among students.
Pidgin has adversely affected students and it is drastically watering down the quality and accuracy of the English Language.
It is also a factor why most students fail in English Language.
Make the library your home everyday and adopt the habit of reading, this will help you improve upon your English Language and i bet you the sky will never be your limit.

The Ewes of Ghana: The most outstanding qualities of this beautiful tribe

The Ewes are an ethnic group in West Africa who are spread mainly between the Mono and the Volta rivers within the borders of Ghana, Togo and Benin. History has it that, the Ewes “had been on the move” for a long time, migrating from Tando, in modern-day Western Nigeria to Notsie (Å‹É”tsie) in Togo. Presently they occupy the South-Eastern coastal plains of Togo and Volta Region of Ghana. I think is important you know that the Ewes are mainly fishing and farming folks.

In Ghana, the Ewes are the second largest ethnic group. They are not just large for nothing; they are synonymous with these outstanding qualities, which have endeared them to be envied by many.
These excellent qualities run in their gene. The society only help to bring them to the fore. Let’s consider some of them.
Ewe woman

They pride in their industriousness, an Ewe woman is never lazy and will make sure she does everything possible to assist her husband financially at home. She feels uncomfortable staying at home without working and she always finds herself guilty whenever she is called a “Good house wife”
Every Ewe woman is naturally endowed with all the good qualities that make a complete woman. Good cook, clean house, good in bed, and much more.  Any Man married to an Ewe woman hardly buys food at the restaurant, why buy when your wife cooks even better, reason they will always come to work with their food jars. He is always in rush to get home quickly after work because he can’t wait to enjoy the delicious food at home. They can manage any little money given to them to prepare the best meal.
Ewes have good thinking abilities.
They are very intelligent and always love what they do. Because of this they are almost found in every occupation thus Teaching, Agriculture, Tourism, Metal Fabricating, Fashion and Designing, Politics, Entertainment etc
Ewes are Religious.

Their names are sort of motivation to them. They give religious names to their children to give thanks to the Almighty God. Examples of such names are Selorm –  God loves me, Mawuko – Except God, Sefa – God is Calm, Seyram  – God bless me etc.
Next time you come across an Ewe, please expect these and other outstanding qualities that will certainly impress you.

Don’t Stop Ghanaians In Togo From Voting - IGP

Ghana’s police chief John Kudalor has told security personnel along Ghana’s borders not to frustrate Ghanaians living in Togo from crossing over to vote in the 7 December polls.

Addressing journalists during a day’s visit to the Volta Region, which is known to be the stronghold of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), the Inspector General of Police said: “I don’t think the Togolese have any mandate to come and vote here, but you know the long-standing history between the Volta Region and Togo. All that we are saying is that any Ghanaian is free to stay anywhere and work. So, if you are even living outside the African continent and you are duly registered and your papers are ready, you can fly in, nobody can stop you at the airport. In the same wise, if you find yourself in a country within our borders, I don’t think anybody should be prevented.”

“The security agency would ensure that everybody who is supposed to vote or who is to have easy access to and from the country across the borders [is] … allowed to vote. If you have any problem with anybody, it should be at the polling station; to see that he is not duly registered, he is coming to be an imposter or unlawfully voting.

The IGP’s concerns about Ghanaians in Togo taking part in the country come just a day after the presidential candidate of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo appealed to Togolese to stay off Ghana’s elections.
Speaking to party supporters in Aflao in the Volta Region, which shares borders with Togo, Mr Akufo-Addo, who speaks very fluent French, told citizens of the francophone West African country that they can support Ghana’s democratic process by staying away from Ghana’s elections.

The NPP has always accused the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) whose stronghold is the Volta Region, of constantly smuggling Togolese into Ghana’s jurisdiction to vote during elections.

The people of the Volta Region share a common language (Ewe) with the Togo while a lot of Ewe-speaking Ghanaians also crisscross the border for daily business activities. Some of them too have families on either side of the border. It is, therefore, difficult to distinguish between a Togolese and a Ghanaian from that part of the country. The situation has, thus, given rise to intense suspicion between the NDC and the NPP, especially in every election year and 2016 has not been any different.

Earlier this year, the vice-presidential candidate of the NPP, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, said Ghana’s electoral roll was contained the names of about 76,000 Togolese smuggled into the country by the NDC to register as Ghanaians so they could take part in the elections. The NDC has constantly demanded evidence from Dr Bawumia in connection with that allegation.

The NPP also recently launched a campaign dubbed “operations eagle eye” that aims to stop all Togolese from taking part in Ghana’s elections.

Luckie Lawson Fights Trokosi

Ghanaian filmmaker and actress Luckie Lawson is hopeful ‘Trokosi’ will be a topical issue at the 2016 edition of International Film Festival of India (IFFI) as Leila Djansi’s directed film about the subject ‘Like Cotton Twines’ screens at the festival this week.

‘Trokosi’ is a practice in rural Ghana, Togo and Benin where traditional religious shrines take young girls, usually virgins, in payment for services or as religious atonement for a supposed offense of a family member still persists.

The actress who played a role in the film is expected to leave Ghana today for the festival in India.

She described the practice as critical and unfortunate, and it needs world attention to stop it.

“It is great opportunity for me attend to this year’s IFFI. It is a big platform for filmmakers from around the world and I am hopeful to network with others who will be attending. ‘Like Cotton Twines’ is a great film which is already making headlines from previous festivals. The issue of Trokosi is critical and I hope talking about it on platforms like this will give attention to it so as to help end it. I don’t understand why a young girl should be paying for a crime she has not committed. It is unfortunate and we must all join hands to condemn it say ‘No To Trokosi’,” Luckie said on Sunday.

‘Like Cotton Twines’ is about a 14-year-old Ghanaian girl who is supposed to become a slave to the gods as part of an appeasement of her father’s sins. She then meets an African-American volunteer who is teaching in her village. It is a touching story.

The film has already been screened at the Savannah Film Festival and the Urban world Film Festival.

It will be screened at the IFFI on November 23 in Goa as one of the masterpiece films of the festival.

The IFFI founded in 1952 is one of the most significant film festivals in Asia. It is held annually in the state of Goa, on the western coast of India. The festival aims at providing a common platform for the cinemas of the world to project the excellence of the film art; contributing to the understanding and appreciation of film cultures of different nations in the context of their social and cultural ethos; and promoting friendship and cooperation among people of the world.

NPP MUST RELEASE CCTV FOOTAGE OF INCIDENT - FELIX KWAKYE

The Deputy  Minister of Communications, Felix Kwakye has condemned the New Patriotic Party for blatantly accusing the NDC for being the party behind the clash that to took place yesterday at Nima.

Speaking on New day, Tv3's morning show program, Felix strongly defended his party and stated that, the stones threw into the house of the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Akufo Addo was set up to dent the image of the NDC.

He called on the NPP to release the CCTV Footage of the incident to serve as an evidence of what actually happened.

The police are investigating into the issue and Ghanaians have been assured that, the matter would be dealt with appropriately.
